Special Feature
Experience the Liveaboard Trip of Your Life
I have been scuba diving for over
25
years. I have dove off of both coasts of the
United States, in between freshwater lakes,
quarries, & streams, and in the Caribbean
waters, for fun and as a divemaster/group
leader with groups. We've stayed at resorts,
rented cabins, chartered boats, and done some
shore diving.
Of all the places I've been and all the varied types of ocean diving that I've enjoyed, I must say that for a 7 day diving vacation---NOTHING COMPARED in value, fun, superb dive sites, food, and relaxation to liveaboard diving on Blackbeard's Cruises.
$$$$$ VALUE $$$$$
If you're a diver with a limited budget and an unlimited sense of adventure, you will appreciate what Blackbeard's has to offer you and what I can do for you as I have done for many of my customers every year for the last 21 years. Since 1979, Blackbeard's Cruises have been leaving Miami bound for diving adventures in the Bahamian waters including Bimini, and the Berry Islands with happy divers that keep coming back for more each year. They now have 3 vessels that home port in Miami and a catamaran in Nassau.
For $879 + port tax pp, you get 7 days aboard a 65 ft. sailboat that includes unlimited scuba diving, snorkeling, all meals, all beverages including beer, wine, soda, & rum punch. That's about ONE-HALF THE COST of similar dive charters.
That's a good price. Sound good? Click here to book a trip alone or if you have a group and you will get back $35 in goods or services at Steve's Scuba. Also check in with us for group trips that we have planned already.

*FUN*FUN*FUN*
Imagine if you will, a 65 ft. PARTY BOAT smoothly skimming the ocean with your choice of music on the stereo (they have drawers full of CD's from various artists), mingling above and below decks with new friends from varied places and backgrounds (even from other countries).
Three great meals a day plus snacks
whenever you're hungry. Saltwater
fishing gear on the stem whenever you
have a fancy to fish. At night the sky
comes alive with billions and billions of
stars that you feel like you can reach out
and touch. Look for falling stars!
You will be amazed at how many stars fall out of the sky each night when you have a clear view of them. Look in the water. As the boat moves through the water. It disturbs the luminescent plankton setting off billions of firefly-like glowing lights referred to as "water on fire". Now add to all that all the diving that you want to do.
Want to spear fish? You can
because of the supply of Hawaiian slings
that are on board for your use. Beach
comb on deserted beaches of the many
islands that populate the area. Then there
is your night in port during the middle of
your cruise for a chance to shop,
sightsee, go dancing, or eat at one of the
local restaurants. This may be your only chance to wear shoes during
the whole week! if you want to assist the crew, you can. You can learn
about navigating, reading charts, hoisting the sails, or anything that
suits your fancy. Or you can sit back and watch the crew work. It's
very interesting and they are very knowledgeable and helpful.
SUPERB DIVE SITES AND DIVE SIGHTS
These are as many and spectacular as the countless islands and reefs scattered all over the Bahamas. There are natural coral gardens where you can follow channels with walls of hard and soft coral high on each side. These deep ravines then open up in valley's with white sand flats and coral head "islands" here and there. There are wrecks found in areas such as this all over.

Many different fish of all colors and shapes appear in and out of this seascape decorating the coral sometimes like ornaments on Christmas trees. Also there are walls where there are huge drop-offs deep into the majestic blue of what looks like bottomless ocean.
If wrecks are what you like, there are many scattered around. Some are famous and some you will recognize from "National Geographic". Nothing is cooler than descending down and drifting across the decks and peering into holds and cabins of shipwrecks sitting there on the bottom silent for all eternity and just like you have seen on television. Only it is much better to be there in person than watching someone else exploring, right?
Whatever diving you would
like to do is all yours for the
asking. Your crew is there to take
you where you want to dive and is
more than happy to accommodate
your wishes while you're on their
cruise. That's another good thing
about Blackbeard's. They are flexible
in that there is not a specific plan or
agenda and each cruise is unique
because the diving passengers help decide where the week's diving
will take them. The crew knows where to go if the weather takes a
turn for the worst so that you don't have to stay and dive under
adverse conditions. Every dive is in different spots so that you won't
get bored at seeing the same stuff. Also with a liveaboard you have
the ability to visit those sites that are well out of the reach of the
normal day dive boats coming out from the islands.
FOOD
This is a subject that is as near and dear to my heart as the best dive spots. One might expect that since you are out on the ocean that you get a lot of seafood. Not true. Although fresh fish and lobster that are caught and speared are cooked up fresh, you can expect any other foods that you would find on land. Biscuits & gravy, eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal, chicken, steak, roast, ham, lasagna, salads, and sandwiches just to mention a few. And don't leave out desserts! There is always fresh fruit, snacks and soda, beer, wine, and their own pirates rum punch. AND of course all of this is included at no extra charge. A little word to the wise- - - - you will not be allowed to dive the rest of the day after consumption of alcoholic beverages. This is for your safety and your buddy's.
RELAX
This is the part of the trip that sets it apart from all other kinds of vacation diving. When you go to a resort to stay and go on daily dive boat trips, you are lugging around all your dive gear on & off the boats, packing & unpacking, rinsing & drying. (over and over and over just to get in some good diving. The whole truth is that you are more tired as each day goes by just from lugging your dive gear back & forth all over again & again than you are from diving.
On Blackbeard's it takes about 5 minutes to suit up for your dive and 5 minutes to unsuit and stow your gear when you're done. That's all there is to it. You are given a compartment topside for all your dive gear. It stays wet all week anyway because you are in the water so much so you just don't have to handle it hardly at all except for when you are diving.
The very first year that I went on a Blackbeard's cruise, I went tired already from a busy season of classes and had specifically planned the trip to get away and kick back for a week and maybe take a few dives just for kicks. what I got was more than I had bargained for! I got the best of both. When I made that first dive, I was hooked. I discovered how easy it was to dive. Because so much of the preparation and hassle was just not there, I found plenty of time for naps, collecting rays from the sun, reading, visiting, snacking, and just enjoying this new freedom that I had plenty of time and energy to make 3 to 4 dives a day. In fact the truth is that after that first dive I was afraid that I was going to miss something if I didn't get in the water with everybody else because the boat keeps going to new dive spots! Every dive was special and unique. I'll never forget that first trip. That was in 1987 and we have been back several times since. In fact, there is such a high rate of return divers going out on Blackbeard's that half of the people you run into on any trip probably have been there before.
HOW GOOD A DIVER DO YOU HAVE TO BE?
There are varying amounts of experience on any of the trips from novice to professional on any of the trips so that you shouldn't have to worry about not having none or little ocean diving experience. The very first dive is shallow (usually around 30 It.) so everyone has a chance to get used to it. From then on it's up to you to dive your own limits (within the guidelines of the dive tables of course).
You are free to dive with your own buddy or a member of the crew will be your guide. You don't have to be a diver to enjoy a trip on Blackbeard's and if you've never dove before, an instructor will give you a resort course (for a small fee) and you can sample the underwater world and see what everybody is excited about.
